IDVP Students Shoot “Quiet on the Set” Competition

This past weekend the Interactive Design & Video Production Program (IDVP) had six students participate in the production of “Jake’s Card”. “Jake’s Card” is a short film that was written as part of the “Quiet on the Set” Competition. Kassandra Langum directed the piece and along with Nicki Andert produced an entertaining and imaginative short film set at the new Maple Grove library. The Quiet on the Set Competition is coordinated by Metropolitan Library Service Agency and is in it’s second year of the competition. The competition has several required elements including the universal library sign, a library card and interior and exterior of a metro public library must be shown during some point of the film. On August 13th and 14th all films from the competition will be screened at Pohlad Auditorium at the Central Library in Downtown Minneapolis. Then on August 15th the winning films in ten categories will be screened and the beautiful QOTS trophies and other prizes will be given out at the QOTS Gala at the majestic Uptown Theater at Lagoon and Hennepin in Minneapolis. Please come to all of the screenings in support of IDVP, Standby Productions and “Jake’s Card” Cast and Crew.  Great job IDVP students!  Check out the “Quiet on the Set” website at  http://www.melsa.org/melsa/index.cfm/programs/qots/
